Testing Tsop Solder With A Multimeter?
« on: January 19, 2004, 01:35:00 AM »

I've got a multimeter but never used it and not sure how. Can someone please explain step by step how to use it to test that the TSOP solder points have been done correctly?

Thanks.  <

put the multimeter in continuity mode.   it should now beep or say something when you touch the leads together.  find one of the spots you connected and follow the two traces leading away.  where they resurface touch the leads to them simultaneously. if it beeps you got it right.  if you don't have a continuity mode, use resistance test (ohms or omega symbol) and look for zero ohms across the solder point      <
