I did two boxes in 1 day and both fragged.  One was manufactured in Sept 03 and the other Oct 03.  They must be 1.4/1.5's I imagine.  Anyway - One had an ST and the other a Winbond TSOP.  Both flashed fine using the appropriate methods (one Evo-X and the other Raincoat).  Neither will reboot.  2 power ups and red / green flashing light.  The BIOS used was MD5 authenticated and is X2 4977 - 256K Multi - which has worked on every box I've done in the past.  These two are the 1st to mess me up with a TSOP flash.

Anyway to get either of these up and running without a modchip?  Have 2 X2.3b's on order - but that does me no good at the moment.  

I even tried unsoldering the flash connects on the top after I was done.  No deal.  If I used the wrong BIOS, which X2 version is best for the new boxes?

Sigh, 4977 doesn't work with the new 1.4/1.5 boxes.  You should have used either Evox M7 or 4979 or higher.

The only way to recover is to either add a modchip to each or to get a modchip that will let you re-flash the TSOP again.

Didn't it occur to you after the FIRST frag to maybe check in here before doing the next one?

the bios cant support the focus video encoder chip, so it frags because its incompatible  <
