Xbe Retail To Debug
« on: February 08, 2008, 01:24:00 PM »

I use DEXBE to patch debug xbe's to retail xbe's.
You can also use this from retail to debug as well.

Hopefully this helps...

Xbe Retail To Debug

When I load DEXBE up (v0.5), I just go to:

1) File - Open - then default.xbe file.
2) This should show in the "version" window what type it is at present (retail or debug).
3) To change this go to File - "Patch to retail version" or "Patch to debug version"
4) Push the "Patch" box on the main screen
5) Then go back to File - Save as - then save the default.xbe file.

This should now be patched (hopefully).
Sometimes I have to use other programs to patch debug xbe's, but other times
this program works great...

Good luck.

Xbe Retail To Debug

Hi,

thanks again.

I will investigate this further. It looks like some fields of the file are instantly patched if I select the File
Patch to Debug options. Only the two 4 byte fields that are xored differently between debug and retail are changed. For some reason, this doesn't fix the issue that the applications refuse to run from within the debug dash. I found another "aboudeur debug bios" that works and also runs the applications, even unpatched. Maybe it has something to do with the media fields from which the application can run. I also noticed that my unleashx dashboard shutdown is working with that bios. It wasn't with the others I tried so far. Still some research to do.

regards.
