Xbtool And Evtool
« on: August 19, 2006, 02:11:00 PM »

I want to edit my BIOS to boot a different .xbe file and after reading tutorials, It seems I need XBtool, and EVtool for Evo M8. I tried opening my X3 3294 v16plus and Evo M8 16 for my version 1.6 xbox and both programs say unsupported kernel for both BIOS's. The two programs were downloaded from xbins just a few days ago so they shouldnt be out of date.. or are they? How can I get them to work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

You don't edit the X3 bios with those.  Just edit the options you want in X3 Config Live menu...

For Evox, get EvTool v1.0.8 if 1.0.9 won't work.  All on xbins.

Because they updated it. From the changelog:
QUOTE
1.0.9

Fixed failure to patch in IGR code on newly supported kernels.
Removed support for outdated BIOS's (only M8+ and meetoo M8 BFMs supported)

Use 1.0.8 on EvolutionX M8 Bios_v1.6.rar -> m8_16.bin.  It'll work.  That, or use M8+... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
