Xbox May Not Be Fragged After All
« on: January 12, 2004, 09:13:00 PM »

This just happened to me awhile ago after I modded my roomates box.
It was a v1.3 with the winbond w49f020t-90b tsop with the retail drive.
Soldered the top 2 points as stated on the various tuts on xbox-scene and flashed with raincoat .501 with 007 AUF.
Worked like a charm on the first try.
Rebooted.  It loaded up the flubber animation but then it gave me an error 13 and started to flash red/green.  Rebooted again and it gave me an error 21.  I thought I was screwed.  Finally put an old evox boot disc in and it booted up just fine.  So if your xbox is giving you errors after u flash ur TSOP, then make an evox boot disc and see if that solves your problem.
By the way, this should only apply to people who don't already have evox on their hard drive.

happy soldering! and xbox-scene is tha shizznat!!!  <

well it depends on the errors, 13 and 21 are dashboard errors, so a boot disc took care of them, other errors are more serious, 7 for example  <

Sounds like you'd better use your Slayer disk to rebuild your partitions and get your drive back up to scratch.

I just flashed a Winbond chip with raincoat .05 and the flash went perfect.  Erased all the way and programed the X2_4980.06_256k fine.  Now I get Error 13, but when  I insert Slayer's or a game, the discs boot fine.  Is there any way to fix the Xbox to boot from the HDD?  Thanks....  <
