Flashing Problem With Aladdin
« on: December 26, 2003, 05:17:00 PM »

Ok.
Here's my problem.
I went home after getting an Aladdin chip installed by someone.
I used the slayers install evox kit 2.5 to check to see which bios I had.
It said the chip had the M7ej bios.
Now I wanted to flash it so that i could use a hard drive that is bigger than 137 GB.
So i used the power button to enable flashing mode and then I selected the M7+137 GB bios (256 version).
Then it went to the warnings and proceded to flash.
After the flash completed, evox installer turned off the xbox.
I turned it back on and I found that I had no video and no sound, so I tried booting with the mod turned off.
Everything is fine, I can boot to the m$ dashboard, but when I try to enable the chip, it flashes green and orange.
And I can't eject the cd/dvd when the modchip is enabled.
Should I just take it back and have them redo the chip? (I'm gonna stay away from any hard drives bigger than 137)
Is it possible to take off the chip once its been soldered to put on another one?

I checked the serial # and it was made in china.
The manufacturing date was August 2003
