I have been reading the forums and tutorials for several hours now. I have sucessfully put on 007savewithraincoat on an un modded xbox. I can get it to boot, I can successfully telnet in. How ever I cannot cd to the UDATA directory. I checked the E drive and it appeared blank.

So i went and put on 007 with evox installer. I also was successfully able to get that to load. I did a backup and install of evox fine, but when I went to flash the chip it was a no go, it just sits there forever erasing....

it brings up the chip information though...its as follows

Press Y to flash

after pressing Y it sits there saying
Erasing...

So I figured its my soldiering job.

I figure I have a v1.3 from the following info

I got the info off of the actual chip it is a winbond
W49F020T-90B

I have a conexant video out chip

Serials last digits are 32805, MFG Date 2003-07-11
It has a Thomson DVD, Seagate HHD
}
so I sodiered the two points on top and one on bottom.

The machine works fine still but the bios will not erase

also... on my xbox there is no jumpers as in the the pictures above, there is just the holes where the jumper blocks would go...

If anyone could offer some advice that has had this problem I thank them in advance

evox cannot flash teh winbond chips, youll have to get raincoat working, try cd'ing each step one directory at a time

oh ok, thanks, I think I will need a newer version of the raincoat then i guess  <_<


could someone also confirm the soldier points, is it just the top or all 3 or what

I've never done a 1.2 but I have done a 1.0 or 1.1 and a small handful of 1.5's and only had to do the top two points.

ive done a couple 1.2'syou have to have the latest raincoat 0.501 and you only need the top two solder points

Ive done plenty of each......I have only soldered the top 2 points on any 1.2 to 1.5 and used Raincoat for every Winbond chip......and If you got 007/raincoat to load then you were fine about having the hack in the right place..or it would have not loaded....BTW make sure you use X2-4979.06 bios.....and id that doesnt work....its your soldering job

alright cool thanks guys..... wierd thing happended though, after I tried to use the clone wars / tetris cd that came with the xbox it tried to do some live stuff then the xbox stopped working and says i need to call a service center.... it wasnt connected to the internet tho... i am just gonna reformat the hdd see if that fixes the error.....


also, no game cds will load except the live one now...

Do you at anytime try to access the xbox live through your dashboard? cause that might have updated your dash....

ya we tried the clone wars cd that came with the xbox, it had some live thing on it , it was after that it messed  up...is there any way to revert to the old dashboard ....



or any utilitlies for the pc that you can use to reformat the drive to the orignal condition with the dash board

Hmmm ya im not 100% on how you go about doing it, but if im not mistaken i think i recall hearing somthing about being able to make your dash back to Pre-live tab and i dont think you need to format the hdd to do it, but like i said i aint 100%, check out the tuts and see if they offer more info...
