from what i have heard, a hotswap can be pretty risky if done improperly.

Yeah I think the grounding is the issue.  So I need to be careful.

But if anyone knows a better way to do it, please let me know.

don't hotswap if you don't have to, use an exploit to gain temporary ftp access (only when you are in the game exploit), then delete the file through ftp. simple and easy, the exploit gamesave can be attained from the usual places and then you can remove it from your harddrive when your done with the ms dash. it doesn't leave a trace

thanks hamdawg, that's what I was waiting to hear.  Just don't want to lose my xbox for live.  So do the exploit delete update then delete the exploit game save and I'm alright for live again?

just curious but what file and why do you need to delete a file from an unmodded box?

instead of doing htat...

you could put the nessesary softmod files on ur xbox, and load them up.

dont install, but while your sitting at that screen you have full ftp acess
