I read pages of what people say about SHARP chips but this motherboard has me confused, the chip it has is "LH28F008SCT-L85 SHARP 0210 5 0P" If anyone seen this one before and know what points I should solider ?

  The LPC are empty they came like that, also based on the pinned topic i have an idea of what 3 points to solider I just want to make sure please, dont want this box to frag on me its a friends,

What size bios should I use 256k or 512k ?

 last question will the evox007 hack work or will I need to use 007raincoat 5.1 ?  please, thanks........ :unsure:

I "search" some more and found one person something on same chip but whenever I run command in raincoat i get this:

UNKNOWN DEVICE Read Only??? manf=0x09, dev=0x00
Try adding the device ID to your raincoat.conf
# ./raincoat 1024k.bin
raincoat Flasher 0.501 Apr 14 2003  [email protected]  http://xbox-linux.sf.net
Reading in ./raincoat.conf... 15 flash types read

By the way there are 2 different "Sharp" tsop versions but they both flash fine as:

Flash=0x89A6,"Sharp X",0x100000

Open your raintcoat.conf in notepad and add these values.

Flash = 0x04BA,"ALX2+ R3 FLASH",0x40000
Flash = 0x01a4,"AMD - Am29F040B",0x80000
Flash = 0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000
Flash = 0x015b,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000
Flash = 0x01da,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000
Flash = 0x378c,"AMIC - A29002",0x40000
Flash = 0x04d5,"FUJITSU - MBM29F080A",0x100000
Flash = 0x04a4,"FUJITSU - MBM29F040C",0x80000
Flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002",0x40000
Flash = 0xadd5,"Hynix - HY29F080",0x100000
Flash = 0xc236,"MACRONIX - MX29F022NTPC",0x40000
Flash = 0x89a6,"SHARP - LH28F008SCT",0x100000
Flash = 0x20f1,"ST - M29F080A",0x100000
Flash = 0x20B0,"ST - 29F002",0x40000
Flash = 0xbf61,"SST - 49LF020",0x40000
Flash = 0xbfb6,"SST - 39SF020",0x40000
Flash = 0xda0b,"Winbond - W49F002U",0x40000
Flash = 0xda8c,"Winbond - W29f020",0x40000
Flash = 0x0900,"Winbond - W49F020T",0x40000

If you cannot flash your tsop then perhaps your soldering may not be correct. Re-check all points and try again.  Good luck.  :beer:

You ought to get rid of the last line in that config...

Flash = 0x0900,"Winbond - W49F020T",0x40000

0x09, 0x00 is NOT a Winbond chip, it occurs if you haven's soldered the read jumpers.

If you soldered the write jumper correctly but soldered the read jumper badly, what exactly are you going to be writing to?  Whatever it is, it ought not to be written to!

Correct only the top 2 points are necessary. Also you have to use the raincoat and not evox to flash the Windbond chip.

for the sharp chip, you have to connect a third wire down on the bottom of the motherboard and then solder two wires to the points on top of the motherboard.  After its booted up and right before flashing, you have to twist the wires together to make a connection.

Then untwist them before you power it back on.
