Is There A Dvd-rip Utility Anywhere Out There?
« on: July 29, 2006, 06:34:00 AM »

Isn't there a version of DVD2XBOX that runs from a windows PC, so that DVDs can be backed up on my PC and then FTP'd to my xbox? My DVD drive on my xbox is a bit...very tempremental and this makes it near impossible for me to use my DVD2XBOX software, stored on my xbox... please help!

I was wondering if there were any tools like divx to backup a dvd to the xbox hard drive without using the computer and then ftp'ing it to the hdd?
that would be awesome.

yes, DVD2XBOX will rip dvd movies onto the hard drive.  I have only confirmed this with one movie.  Also, there are some speed isssues with the current release, although it didn't take me too long to rip it.

It was created to backup Dvd MOVIES, not games like some people have posted.

Almost true. It also dumps xbox games to the harddrive and removes the media check.

how do I install dvd2xbox?

What is the evox.ini edit?

extract the contents of dvd2xbox to a folder [e.g. dvd2xbox] maintaining the directory structure.

then copy this folder to e:apps or f:apps on the xbox hdd. [edit: add a backslash between the semicolon and apps, xbox-scene forum removes them]

if you have not made any significant changes to the evox.ini file [am guessing no =) ], it will automatically add the prog to the menu.

enjoy.
